The TCHTA met at Deb Shumacher's house on Sunday Nov. 30 at 2:00pm. We discussed the following
1. Methods of promoting yourselves as Tai Chi teachers
a. free demonstrations
b. free first time classes
c. calling on churches, temples etc
2. We discussed substitute teaching and decided the web site (daoist-taichi.com) would be a good place to post the names of people who would be willing to sub as a teacher (also a good way to begin teaching). If you follow the Substitute Teachers link under the TCHTA section you will find some basic instructions and an example.
3. The different types of music used for classes was brought up and again we decided it would be good to publish peoples favorites on the web site. This is under construction.
4. The venue for the next meeting. We decide to hold the
next meeting as a social event in February. Date, time and place to be
announced.
